The easiest fairly reliable fix I've used is to close steamvr, hit the power button on the base station, wait a few seconds, turn it back on, turn steamvr back on. Currently, Rift users can access any VR content on Steam, but it’ll need to run through SteamVR and not the headset’s own platform.
